The 2010 Byron Varsity Football Team will be a united team with a combined roster of 29 kids. This action was taken primarily to protect the health and well-being of the kids. Running 2 teams of 13 is the minimum allowed by the LCAJFL. If one child were to get hurt, the team would have to forfeit their game. Having 2 teams would mean that the kids get a lot of playing time, but it also means that it would expose them to possible injuries due to the rigors of playing both ways. For these reasons, it was in the best interest of the kids and the program to combine the teams. |
